Do You Need Flat Roof Replacement or Restoration?

You might need a commercial roof replacement if you begin to notice:

    • Puddles of water due to an improper roof slope
    • Cracked membranes or failing seams that cause water damage
    • Foot traffic damage or problems due to HVAC units
    • Persistent leaks around flashing or walls
    • High energy bills from poor insulation
    • Old roofing systems that are non-compliant with current codes

What Contributes to the Cost of Flat Roof Installation?

    Roof Size and Layout

The larger the roof, the greater the investment—it’s as simple as that! If your roof is difficult to access or requires additional drains, internal piping, or built-in slopes for effective water management, material and labor costs may be slightly higher as well.

    Material

Most property owners in Brooklyn or Queens choose between TPO, EPDM, or modified bitumen roofs, which vary in performance, longevity, and price.

    Current Roof Condition

Water damage, soft spots, mold, and other issues with older roofs can add to the project’s complexity, thereby increasing the overall cost.

    Our Flat Roof Installation Process

Wondering what to expect on installation day? The process will vary slightly, depending on whether you choose a hot- or cold-applied roofing system.

    Hot Application

    • Step #1: Prepare — The roof surface is cleaned, inspected, and repaired as needed.
    • Step #2: Heat — The roof material (bitumen or asphalt) is heated in a separate kettle to a temperature of 350°F to 500°F.
    • Step #3: Apply — The hot asphalt is applied to the roof’s surface in layers until the desired thickness is reached.
    • Step #4: Cure — The roof cools and solidifies over several hours to provide a durable, watertight roofing system.

    Cold Application

    • Step #1: Prepare — The roof surface is cleaned, inspected, and repaired as needed.
    • Step #2: Apply — A liquid solvent or water-based adhesive is applied to the roof surface using rollers, squeegees, or sprayers.
    • Step #3: Reinforce — Layers of reinforcement fabrics, additional piles, and adhesive coats are embedded into the liquid, as needed.
    • Step #4: Cure — The roof cures as the solvent evaporates over the course of several hours or days, depending on the product and weather conditions.
